Possible Names for our Music Magazine

- GRIME TIME:  image on the front will be a Grime MC or producer because this will relate to the genre of the magazine
- Beatz:  image on the frontcover showing a student wearing Dr Dre's "Beats" Headphones
- Power Beats:  shows the idea of strong music, could suggest dance and dubstep
- 808:  rhythm composing machine used by music producers
- Muzik:  spelt in slang to give the magazine a unique style
- Mastermix:  a mixture of dance and pop music
- iMusic:  mainly pop music and based on iTunes
- Eargasm:  shows the love and affection of "music to the ears"
- BASE!  suggests the idea of underground music, garage, house beats
- Hit 'n' Rave:  based on popular dance culture
- Volume:  suggest the idea of turning music up and down
- TURN IT UP!  could suggest the idea of big, loud, music tunes
- Decks:  relates to Dance and Techno DJs mixing decks in raves
- Shuffle:  the idea of switching music playlists based on the shuffle feature on iPods and Mp3 Players
- Music Roulette:  similar to 'Shuffle' because it picks music genres at random

LIFE ON MARS

The editing techniques and the gender representations say a lot about power in this clip of Life on Mars. The first obvious representation of power is when the lady walks towards the man to ask a question about a case. This immediately shows the audience that man has a higher status in the workplace than the woman, or that she may be looking for his approval.

The eye-line match technique used when the man is looking at the computer whilst he’s talking to the woman could suggest that he doesn’t respect her opinion and that he has more important things to concentrate on.

In the next scene the man rings the woman to ask her about her progress on the case. He then finds out that she is in some trouble and his natural male instinct is to go and save her
